My apologies.  At one point the DC was handling logins from my NT box and NETCOm fine BUT I completely reorganized the objects 'cause I made a fairly serious design error the first time.

When it worked again from my linux console I thought it was fixed, but the
two mentioned above now fail to proeprly negotiate the telnet conenction.

Chances are you guys will have a simialr experience. Sorry for the premature
annoucnement. Will let you know when its fixed, again.
