Creatures 2 COB Compiler

This compiler has been written to allow you to create your own agent files for Creatures 2. The agent files (also known as COBs) are simplified ways of exchanging agents with others whilst ensuring that all the resources necessary for the agents' correct operation are also transferred. The agent files provide a method of transferring all agent-related resources in a single file, including all the sounds and images used by the agent.

The COB Compiler supports the COS format and will automatically identify your installation, event script and removal chunks and also produces a list of files you need to include in the COB to allow others to use it. It fully supports the COB format allowing multiple agent chunks (more than one object per COB) and the author chunk.

The COB Compiler can also decompile a COB into it's constituent COS, WAV and S16 files for you.

To use this executable:

  1. Download the self-extracting archive
  2. Make sure that Creatures 2 is not running
  3. Double click on the downloaded file to start installation
  4. The Compiler and help document will be installed in your tools directory
  5. The documentation is in Word format. If you do not have Word, a plain text version is available below.
