Species List

Species Table

Below is a list of all the various critters and plants you may find in C2.

Name: What you and I would call a species on an every day basis.
Norn's Name: What the Norns call this species.
Latin Name: When these plants and animals were first discovered or gengineered by the Shee, the Shee scientist who found it got the honour of giving the species its zanderfish Latin name (zanderfish latin is like cod Latin, only more Albian). Often, they chose to name their discovery after themselves.
Type: Species can be either permanent or ecological, as described above.
Niche: Niche is an ecological term, basically meaning 'what it needs to live'. For instance, the niche of the average Creatures player would be a room with a PC and a regular supply of food and some caffeine based beverage. Sunlight optional.
Edible: A species is listed as edible if a Norn can eat it. It doesn't necessarily mean it's good for the Norn.
Chemical 'reward' to Norns: What chemicals the Norn gets if it eats this species. If you want to know more about what individual chemicals do, look through the archives of this website for the 'Norn Biochemistry 101' article.

A final thank-you must be said to all the players who allowed their names to be hacked around to make Latin names for the Creatures Two plants and animals. Keep up the good work, guys!
