I looked into the holders code. I may have read the code wrongly, but I
don't see any sequential list walk. Instead, the objects which have
holders defined for them are immediately put into the name index, and
are found by quick lookup_retrieve_names afterwards. The code seems
rather okay to me. What optimization did you have in mind, Brandon?
