index/subrange as lvalue

So what do the developers think of index/subrange as lvalue?

i.e.:

foo[bar] = baz;
foo[bar..baz] = [x, y, z];

have assignment-as-expression, index-as-lvalue, and find me a way to
get the thing to run under HP/UX 9.01, and I'll switch, and plug
ColdMUD all over the land. Right now, I'm plugging LPMOO.

Oh yeah, floating point would be nice, but I can wait for that :)
