a new, full-bastard object is created. It has no... anything, save its object number.
This wouldn't be so bad, except that it seems impossible to operate on the object; and actions taken toward the object seem to return "#xxx.has_ancestor not found."
Maybe create() should throw an error when passed an empty parent-list.
