it struck me that instead of sending a bunch of #$#mcp-negotiate-can messages and then a #$#mcp-negotiate-end message, we could just send one multiline message. but then we'd have to require multilines in all implementations. i'm in favor of punting it and getting the spec out, but i thought i'd mention it anyway. --erik
