Thanks for the suggestion, Michael. I thought it might be related to
this myself, so I tried just having the connect function bypass all
checking (just to test it) and.. unfortunately I'm getting the same
issue.

The odd part is it does the same thing when I try logging in as a 
guest. It will hang for about 1-2 minutes, then pop me a message
saying I'm logging in as the guest, then just go nowhere. The oddest
part is, during this hang, the MOO remains responsive and will happily
accept all the various login screen commands (WHO, VERSION, etc).

It's very odd, and definately a new sort of problem for me.
