Like Robert said: security reasons. A while back, I was working on a MOO which had very poor security: I arrived hoping to code a few things, and they made me a wizard without even knowing me first. Of course, I'm not one to trash a system, but some others are. We didn't change this system of mass wizarding (because we thought we needed all the help we could get) until a wizard decided he didn't want to work on the MOO and recycled all the rooms in the MOO. We dewizzed and toaded him. However, he had changed the passwords of a few wizards that hadn't been on in a few months, so he continued to get on and act rather immaturely. Eventually, a mass check of passwords ensured that he wouldn't come back. However, think of what COULD have happened. Since I was the only one who knew how to code, everyone trusted me. If he had gotten my password, there's no telling what could have happned. It takes poor planning to create a wizard like that, but we should not have to live in a world of the ONE FATAL MISTAKE. The lack of decrypt protects wizards from themselves. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get email at your own domain with Yahoo! Mail. http://personal.mail.yahoo.com/
