Well, this list is pretty quiet so far, so... I'll go first... ;) I've posted a copy of my answering machine core to the downloads page (http://www.moo-cows.com/downloads.html). This is a MOO minimal database; you just edit it with a text editor to change the "we're not here" message. Also I'm in the process of setting up a library MOO - to serve as a warehouse for reusable code, and also a place for anyone interested to learn programming. There's been some interest in having coding classes there too. I'll post the login info on that once it's a little less raw... :) I plan on having a web interface on it, so you'll be able to @dump code goodies either from the MOO side or the web. Hm, what else. I've been working on a flash MOO client; actually I have the moo side of it working perfectly, it's the flash part that's a little more troublesome :) as soon as I have a more generic/easily modifiable version, I'll post it. I started working on it because I didn't really want to use the existing Java-based flash servers for handling flash games, and I think MOO can do the job just as well (if not better). Anyone else working on cool new MOO stuff? :) -- Jackie Hamilton http://lightsphere.com/ _______________________________________________ Moo-wizzen mailing list Moo-wizzen@nospam http://www.moo-cows.com/mailman/listinfo/moo-wizzen

Well, we've got a bunch of interesting project going on at LogMOO. See http://ahynes1.homeip.net:8000/moo for information about LogMOO and http://ahynes1.homeip.net:8000/moo/connectivity.htm for a list of some of our projects. I am very interested in finding a good way of documenting and sharing the projects that people are working on. I have one you can add to the list. Someone else and I have been working on IMP, a central server based protocol that, so far, allows statistics gather, cross-moo paging and channels, code porting, comprehensive who listings, etc.. I've also used it to play an interesting game of inter-moo tag ;P Aldon Hynes wrote: Well, we've got a bunch of interesting project going on at LogMOO. I'm interested in finding out more about IMP. Where can I get information? How do I load it on my server? What MOOs are connected to it? etc. It seems to be somewhat similar to SunNET, Millenium, GNA-NET and MOO Soap. So, I am also curious about how it might interconnect. Also, I've got a LiveJournal client on my machine. Very primative. I would like to look at other LiveJournal clients. (I am aldon at livejournal) I've got simple servers loosely based on RFCs (finger, echo etc). I would like to look at a nicer set. For my web connectivity, I use $aloha, which sounds like it has some similar stuff as Fyren. Again, perhaps we can work towards collaboration. As to a project database, I am currently playing with a version of MOO CVS. Personally, I would love to see that as the project database. The problem is that none of the MOO CVS implementations support SSH and as such don't interoperate well with SourceForge (As I understand the issue). If anyone has a good CVS server we could use, that might be a nice way to build a project database. Lacking that, and perhaps also for documentation, doing things inMOO might also be interesting. I have a primative WikiWiki that might be a nice way to do that on LogMOO. If anyone wants to collaborate, let me know. Aldon And Project wise: MOO clients for LiveJournal, IMP, various inMOO servers based on RFCs, multiple Milenium addons (I miss that project), web-based everything (mail, channels, help files, client, object browser, code browser, VRML walk-through, code editor, password locked areas...), a web-based 'horse track' betting/breeding/etc game powered by MOO, and lots of little things that I can't remember right now :P Basically, I'm interestead in implementing everything.. finding something practical to do with it can come later ;) On a side note.. I need a couple games to run IMP clients so that I can test it out in a more widespread environment. On a more serious note.. I normall don't send HTML mail.. but this is the only way I can send for the next day _______________________________________________ Moo-wizzen mailing list Moo-wizzen@nospam http://www.moo-cows.com/mailman/listinfo/moo-wizzen

> I'm interested in finding out more about IMP. Where can I get information? > How do I load it on my server? What MOOs are connected to it? etc. Right now it's not connected to anything. I'm moving it from version 0.2 to version 0.5. So, a lot of cleaning up code, fixing ambiguities, etc. It should be up in beta form this weekend. Along with a detail explanation of what it is and why it is. > It seems to be somewhat similar to SunNET, Millenium, GNA-NET and MOO Soap. > So, I am also curious about how it might interconnect. SunNET & GNA-NET - Never heard of them.. where can I find information? Millenium - Used it and acctually liked it, but it's not being maintained anymore, the webpage is gone and the developer says he wants nothing to do with it the last time I asked him. It also had some serious routing problems. MOO Soap - I've looked at this.. my only issue is that for the smallest command, you're still sending multiple lines of data and extraneous stuff. This is the main reason I started IMP, for something fast, small and with a small bandwith footprint. > Also, I've got a LiveJournal client on my machine. Very primative. I would > like to look at other LiveJournal clients. (I am aldon at livejournal) I pulled up my LiveJournal stuff last night and looked over it again. All it needs is a little error checking and documentation and it'll be ready for beta testing. I use http://www.livejournal.com/users/ljmoo to test it ;P > I've got simple servers loosely based on RFCs (finger, echo etc). I would > like to look at a nicer set. This is something I've wanted to do.. and would love to work with someone on. I want to implement all relevant RFCs (POP, SMTP, time, NNTP, MD5, RC6, etc..) and either release them as stand-alone servers in the case of things like mail and usenet, or library packages in the case of encryptions and hashes. More later.. ;P -- James Littlefield <fyren@nospam> _______________________________________________ Moo-wizzen mailing list Moo-wizzen@nospam http://www.moo-cows.com/mailman/listinfo/moo-wizzen
